Group 7: General Templar

Group Members : Nicholas Lam (Leader) (29), Joshua Pay (22), Kwek Jia Rui (24), Brian Poh (31)

A hero is a person who selflessly helps the needy or gives to his country or nation unconditionally. A true hero also does not defect due to torture and is loyal to his country or nation. A hero is different from others as he posseses the determination and courage to face the adversities in the face of danger. Just like General Templar. He got rid of the rebels by rewarding the rebels who surrendered and those that encouraged them to surrender. When he left Malaya in 1954 the situation was dramatically improved, though the rebels remained a force. However, General Templar denied that the situation has stabilised. He threatened to shoot the person who says that the emergency is over. I think he said this to maintain the level of alertness of the people so that they will not allow such a war to happen again. He was in commandment of the 6th Armoured Division when he was severely injured by a land mine in mid-1944.
He spent the rest of the war on intelligence duties in 21st Army Group HQ as well as briefly heading the German Directorate of the Special Operations Executive.
